Falkirk Allotment Society (FAS) was set up over two years ago, initially as a pressure group, to lobby Falkirk Council and any other local landowners to identify any possible sites for allotments.

At that time Falkirk Council was one of only two mainland councils in Scotland which did not have any allotment sites. However late 2009 the society was offered a lease on the walled garden at Bantaskine on the south side of Falkirk. The Council has begun work on clearing the site and repairing the walls and access road before FAS takes on the lease. This small site has generated 18 plots, all of which have been allocated from the waiting list leaving over 50 members of the FAS still on the waiting list. The society will continue to lobby for more sites across the council area.

Falkirk Allotment Society is working with team members of the Helix Project to identify possible sites within the Helix site.
